Happy Hour in 2020: Making the most of Virtual Events during a Pandemic
Just weeks after a successful networking happy hour in 2020 hosted in February, (recap video here) it was no longer “business as usual” with our incoming Board members, The brand new Dallas Junior Chamber Board was faced with a challenge..continuing a monthly activity for our members- virtually.
Our members came together to solve many obstacles the Coronavirus Pandemic posed for a very active networking organization.
+Young professionals want to expand their professional networks
+Unwind after work
+Have fun
Which CAN and IS happening virtually! Furthermore, it may be a great way to expand our reach outside of our Dallas community.
Let’s dive into what happened! P
“We all were becoming familiar with Zoom meetings at work and were enthused to incorporate this within the young professionals in our Dallas community. We wanted to provide a place to continue to network and give our members a place to connect during what seemed as a very lonely and isolating time” shares new 2020 President Sarah Crilley
“Our networking happy hours have been THE place to socialize after work, and we are so proud of how successful our first virtual happy hour was! We plan to do more and provide support to our young professionals” adds EVP Robyn Lehrman, who previously held positions as SVP of Membership. “I know our members are appreciative of our efforts and I encourage everyone to keep in touch during these challenging times”
“I was impressed to see how many views our virtual happy hour already has, 1,000 views and ZOOM reached out to use DJCC in it’s promotional content! I am not sure if they have moved forward with us,  but it certainly is exciting to have captured attention from them through uploading the recap video to YouTube!” adds President Sarah Crilley
Recap video: We hosted our first ever VIRTUAL happy hour and it was so great to make new connections. We are actively looking for new ways to connect with young professionals, especially during this time of Covid-19 guidelines of social distancing. It’s important to still have the social interaction even if it’s not “in person” we can connect virtually! Thanks to everyone who joined us and we can’t wait to host another one! #DJCC Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce. We used ZOOM to connect our young professionals together and it was SO great to make new friends and connections this evening. If you are interested in joining our next virtual event feel free to email President Sarah Crilley at president@djcc.us
